The Oyo State Post Primary School Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has revised the schedule for the computer-based test (CBT) for applicants in the ongoing recruitment exercise for teaching and non-teaching staff of secondary schools. Originally slated for one week, the CBT will now be three days, from Monday, July 29 to Wednesday, July 31.
TESCOM Chairman, Pastor Akinade Alamu, announced the change during a press conference in Ibadan, citing security concerns due to an anticipated nationwide protest on August 1. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of all applicants and the protection of facilities.
He expressed optimism that this proactive measure would alleviate fears related to the planned protest and ensure a peaceful exercise.
Pastor Alamu assured that the revised timetable is already available on the Oyo State job portal, and consultants send messages and emails to candidates.
He maintained that adequate facilities and computers had been arranged for applicants from Monday to Wednesday. He reiterated that only those scheduled to sit for the test on Thursday and Friday will be affected by the changes, as their exams will now take place between Monday and Wednesday.
The TESCOM Chairman assured that the committee, along with its partnering agencies, including the management of the University of Ibadan DLC, agreed to compress the examination days to three.
It will be recalled that the computer-based test was initially scheduled for July 29 to August 2.
